The soaring club of Karlstad has been active since 1945. Hundreds have since then experienced the fascination of flying. Many have chosen to get a sailplane certificate and the club have today 105 members. 

In connection with the 1997 inauguration of the new airport of Karlstad, one of the most modern in Europe, all activities at the old stopped, including the club´s activities. 

The club is currently rebuilding the infrastructure at the new location at the new airport; a new club house, new hangars and and a new runway.
